The Institute for Advanced Medicine (IAM) will provide access to FREE and confidential HIV testing, rapid Hepatitis and syphilis, as well as three-site self-administered gonorrhea and chlamydia that is sent to a lab and results in about 1-2 days.

Mount Sinai has different programs throughout our Institute that provide a plethora of services for everyone! We have our Center for Transmedicine and Surgery (CTMS) that provides HRT, surgeries, and psychiatry/therapy services. Under our Playsure Network 2.0 grant, we can offer 25 free MH counseling sessions with an LCSW, virtually or in-person. We provide prevention and HIV primary care and assist those in need of insurance/coverage to obtain medications and long-acting injectables. We have a Care Coordination program for those who are living with HIV and/or have two or more chronic conditions and need supportive services. Lastly, we have a re-entry program/justice-involved program, food and nutrition program, and have Legal Aid for legal assistance for those living with HIV. If we do not have a service, then we will refer to a community partner that does.

The mission of the Institute for Advanced Medicine (IAM) to lead the field in providing compassionate, inclusive, integrated, and holistic primary care, prevention and education to advance the health of individuals and communities we serve. IAM envisions a future where everyone has access to quality healthcare through culturally affirming services that are guided by data-driven decisions, ensuring equity for all. We offer our patients an extensive network of caring clinicians and supportive programs to meet their unique needs. IAM provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient comprehensive care for people with HIV or other chronic diseases, at high risk for HIV, and additional underserved populations, including primary and subspecialty care, services through the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery, gynecology, oral health, nutrition services, mental health services, social work and case management services, integrative medicine, adherence support, harm reduction services, benefits assistance, HIV and STI testing, hepatitis C treatment, HIV biomedical prevention including PEP and PrEP, education, and a variety of workshops and support groups. In addition to these services, IAM has programs specifically targeting the needs of people with a history of justice-involvement including incarceration, survivors of trauma and/or violence, and transgender and non-binary individuals.

The Prevention Outreach Team provides testing for all through two grants: the city’s Playsure Network 2.0 and the state’s LGBTQ YMSM. Both programs offer free, quick, and confidential testing for all regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, insurance status, or documentation status. Since the programs are embedded within the Institute for Advanced Medicine, we are able to directly provide or refer those engaged from outreach testing to our medical and supportive services in one of our four clinics located throughout Manhattan.
