The CUNY School of Professional Studies Black Student Union (BSU) invites members of the Class of 2026 to participate in the 2026 Black Graduation Celebration Ceremony. CUNY SPS students who earned their degree between August 2025 and January 2026, in February 2026, or who are scheduled to graduate in June or August 2026 are eligible to be recognized.

This celebration is open to the CUNY SPS community. Pre-registration is required.

Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026
Time: Ceremony begins at 6:30 PM ET
Format: Hybrid. On-campus attendance is limited due to public safety and fire code regulations. Online participation will take place via Zoom. All registered graduates will receive the Zoom link.
Location: CUNY School of Professional Studies, 119 W. 31st Street, 4th Floor, New York City. The ceremony will also be streamed live for virtual attendees.

On-Campus Guests:
Graduates may currently bring up to two adult guests (18+ with ID). Capacity limits may require adjustments; BSU and Student Life will confirm guest allowances as registration continues.

Accessibility:
American Sign Language interpreters and live captioning will be provided for both in-person and online attendees. Please indicate any additional accommodation needs when registering.

Staff & Faculty:
All CUNY SPS students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.

Please Note:
Registering for the Black Graduation Celebration Ceremony does not register you for the official CUNY SPS Commencement Ceremony, and vice versa.
