Planning for Success: Adapting to a New Online Learning Environment
Adjusting to a new learning environment can sometimes feel difficult for new students. Additionally, asynchronous online learning comes with its own unique challenges that can be difficult to understand and navigate. This workshop will identify some common difficulties new students encounter when they begin their academic journey here at CUNY SPS. We will also review strategies that may help you navigate these difficulties and have a good first semester.

Presenter: Thachell Tanis (she, her, hers)

Thachell Tanis, PhD, is a Clinical Psychologist with specialties in clinical assessment, campus-based mental health care, and psychodynamic psychotherapies. She has previously worked as a psychologist at NYPD, as well as a mental health clinician at Bellevue Hospital, Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn College, Hunter College Campus Schools, and The Psychological Center at City College. Before she became a psychologist, she worked as a research coordinator at Mount Sinai Beth Israel conducting research on the effects of childhood maltreatment in adulthood.
