Grounded in self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills, this workshop gives students the strategies to respond-not react-to challenges, strengthen their decision-making, and show up as their best selves. Students leave with a clearer sense of who they are, how they feel, and how to use emotional intelligence to create meaningful success in college and in life.

Pervis Taylor, III is a renowned mental health coach, author, and speaker who has made a significant impact in the fields of personal development and mental wellness. With a Master's Degree in clinical psychology from Columbia University, Pervis has dedicated his career to helping individuals overcome their mental health challenges and achieve their fullest potential.
Pervis had humble beginnings and is a native of Dallas, TX. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami where he majored in marketing. He made a courageous decision to move from Dallas to New York City after graduating to pursue a career in marketing. He expressed an interest in modeling and signed with Wilhelmina Models to broaden his professional reach and impact. He transitioned into the music industry and began his career at Def Jam Records, where he worked alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry. Here is where he realized his true calling made the bold decision to transition from the music industry to coaching and mental health advocacy. His desire is to support others on their journey to mental and emotional well-being.
Pervis is the author of two groundbreaking books on black men's mental health, "Surthrival Mode" and "Heal Forward," both of which have been widely praised for their insightful and empowering approach to healing and self-discovery. Additionally, his works have been used by other mental health clinicians and colleges and universities as part of a dynamic and holistic approach to addressing the mental and emotional wellness of people of color. His work has been featured in top publications such as Forbes and Black Enterprise, and he has appeared on major media outlets including ABC News Live and Good Morning America to share his expertise and inspire others to prioritize their mental wellness.
Through his coaching programs, speaking engagements, and literary works, Pervis continues to be a force for positive change and empowerment. His ultimate goal is to help people break free from the stigma that surrounds mental health and push them to live their best lives. His unique blend of clinical expertise, personal experience, and compassionate guidance has enabled him to be a trusted mentor and advocate for countless people that seek to improve their mental health and well-being.
