Dr. Zeita-Marion Lobley, known as Z, serves as the Director of Student Services at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, where she oversees Career Services, Counseling Services, Disability Services, Veterans Services, and Student Life. It’s clear from her role that she is both student-oriented and service-oriented, and she often shares that she considers her job to be the most interesting and fulfilling one.
Z joined the CUNY School of Professional Studies from Columbia University, where she held the position of Dean of Academic Services at the Law School. She became part of SPS on the same day the first group of students arrived. At that time, SPS had only 239 students, and Z was essentially the entire Student Services Office. Among her many responsibilities, she also served as the first Academic Integrity Officer. In this role, Z had the opportunity to consider the emerging technical tools that assist students in conducting research and preparing their papers.
Now, in an exciting new era where AI has evolved into a valuable tool when used appropriately, Z is pleased that the community is exploring the complex world of AI this week, offering insights into its many uses.
